HISTORY AND CULTURE OF PALESTINE IN VILA FRANCA DE XIRA

The place was the Clube Vilafranquense and the organization was jointly assumed by MPPM and Cooperativa Alves Redol. The objective of the meeting was “cultural, informative and of solidarity”.

Júlio de Magalhães, member of the Board of MPPM, extensively evoked the life and work of Mahmud Darwich, while Paulo Rato read some of his poems.

José Manuel Goulão, a journalist member of the Steering Committee of MPPM, made a very comprehensive analysis of the Palestinian situation since the British Mandate to the present date.

A widely participated debate ended the very interesting meeting.
